Background and context

Rb regulator stands for Retinoblastoma regulator. The Rb protein is an essential negative regulator which provides time for the cell to grow properly before entering the S phase. It is widely known as a tumor-suppressing protein due to its nature of controlling cell divisions. Cell growth occurs in the G1 stage of the cell cycle.
