Background and context

Cytokinesis can be defined as the stage of cell division in which the cytoplasm of the parent cell is divided and distributed to the daughter cells. The process of cytokinesis occurs in all cells but the method slightly differs in plant and animal cells. These differences in cytokinesis are because of differences in the shape and composition of both types of cells.
