Background and context

Cdks (cyclin-dependent kinases) are those proteins that help in the regulation of the cell cycle. This protein generally helps in the positive regulation of the cell cycle so that cell can complete its division. G1 (Gap1) and G2 (Gap2) are the two checkpoints that are regulated by Cdk. Cdk is present in the inactive stage in the cell and is activated when required by the body to regulate the cell cycle.
