Background and context

Genetic material is the sum of all hereditary substances present in the cell which are transferred to the daughter cells in the upcoming generation. RNA (ribonucleic acid) and DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) are the two basic hereditary materials. The behavior of an individual and its physiological processes are all regulated by the information that is packed in the genetic material.
