Background and context

G0(Gap0 phase occurs after the cytokinesis stage of cell division is completed. Generally, a cell enters the G1 (Gap1) phase after the cytokinesis process but if the cell does not want to divide further or is stimulated to avoid the cell division process then it enters the G0 phase. G0 phase can also be described as the resting phase or quiescent stage.
