Background and context

Regulatory mechanisms are those which assist in regulating various functions of the cells according to its need. A cell may produce faulty p53 protein if the gene associated with the production of p53 protein is mutated somehow. The p53 protein plays an important role in the cells as a tumor-suppressor protein.
