The cross that is used to analyse the inheritance of two independent traits is referred to as a dihybrid cross. The cross is between AABB(homozygous dominant) and aabb (homozygous recessive). The gametes of the progeny are AB and ab. The F1 generation produced is AaBb (double heterozygote). The gametes of the F1 generation are AB, aB, Ab, and ab.
