Background and context

The meiotic interkinesis is the phase between meiosis I and meiosis II. This is the time of transition between the first stage of meiosis and the second stage. This is different from mitotic interphase even though Meiosis II is very similar to Mitosis as there is an equational division that takes place during Meiosis II.
