Background and context

Sexual reproduction is a more advanced form of reproduction as compared to asexual reproduction. A better evolutionary character is observed in the case of sexual reproduction. This is because the fusion of two gametes takes place in this case where different characters are expressed in the offspring that are associated with the parents.
