Background and context

Foodborne disease is a disease that is caused by the consumption of contaminated food and beverages i.e the food which contains pathogenic microbes such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites, or microbial toxins. E.coli is one of the bacteria which causes several foodborne diseases such as gastrointestinal illness which can be lethal. It is also known as "Food poisoning".
