Background and context
Biomes are regional units that are delimited by a specific climatic zone having a particular flora and fauna. The biomes are categorized into two major groups namely terrestrial biomes and aquatic biomes. The major terrestrial biomes are produced by seasonal changes caused due to rotation of the earth and tilt of its axis together with variation in precipitation.
