Rotenone is an herbicide that acts by blocking electron flow in Complex I. Predict the affect of rotenone on the following processes (for A. â D. you can simply circle the correct answer):
O2 utilization (up or down).
ATP production (up or down).
NADH levels (up or down)
TCA cycle (inhibited or running).
After several hours of rotenone inhibition, will complex II continue to pass electrons from succinate to FAD (making FADH2) and finally to ubiquinone? Why or why not?
