Involves other aspects of the message including the characteristics of the person imparting the message (communication) In 1934 richard lapiere conducted a study that illustrated this difference. In the us in the 1930s there was rampant prejudice and discrimination against asians. He traveled the west coast to see if in reality asians were discriminated in hotels and restaurants but only on one occasion did he actually see discrimination.
