Background and context

The term “biome” refers to the large-scale ecological community of organisms that share similar environment or climatic conditions in prominent geographical regions. Biomes can be classified into aquatic biome and terrestrial biomes. The aquatic biome is a water-based biome that includes freshwater and a marine biome. The terrestrial biomes are land-based, including savannas, deserts, tropical rainforests, temperate forests, boreal forests, and tundras.
