Background and context

Hormones bring about changes in target cells by binding to intracellular hormone receptors. Chaperons are molecules that help in the folding of proteins. These are present in almost all living organisms. Heat shock proteins or HSP are proteins that play the role of molecular chaperones. These are produced when the cells undergo stress. HSP help in the folding and refolding of proteins thus stabilizing the proteins.
