Hello! My name is Ailah, and I am a first year MPH student.The class I need help with is epidemiology. The scenario is: A health maintenance organization recentlyformed in Madison County has 100,000 participants. An initialreview of all (100,000) medical records shows that 20,000 personshad hypertension. The 1-year follow up of this population revealed2,500 newly diagnosed cases of hypertension. Questions based on thescenario: 1. What was the initial prevalence of hypertension at thestart of the study? 2. What was the incidence rate of hypertensionfor the one year follow up period? 3. If the number of newlydiagnosed cases of hypertension continues to be about 2,500 casesper year, what would be the 5 year cumulative incidence ofhypertension? 4. Estimate (from incidence and prevalence) theaverage duration of hypertension. I actually already have workedthe problems but I just need to be sure my answers are correct. Anyhelp you can offer is greatly appreciated!!!
