Please write down your response after reading the paragraphs. (At least 5 sentences long, 150-200 words.)

Global health is a challenge that scientists and researchers have been monitoring for along time. Diseases such as cancer and AIDS are common throughout the world and treatment for them can cost thousands of dollars with no guarantee of a cure at the end. Also, the research to find a cure for these deadly, yet common diseases has been going for decades and very little progress has been made which leaves normal civilians no hope for a cure. Using technology as a major part of the solution to the global health challenge is an acceptable solution as long as proper guidelines are followed.

The idea brought up by Hamilton to use a chip on organs is one that can accelerate the research on cures for various life threatening illnesses, for it would be able to tell scientists exactly how each organ processes drugs and which chemicals it accepts immediately. However, finding out if these organ chips would work would require experimenting on humans, for animals have different needs than humans. This would cause an ethical dilemma, for any experiment that would be used to be experimented on would have his health on the line. The line between technology and human innovation is drawn when human health is risked. Although, human innovation is gradually becoming dependent on technology, I do not think it is a major issue.
