Process effects: when influence is in the process of being manifested, should be considered because it doesn"t show up automatically. If more thoroughly understood, then there will be more control over media influence: baseline effects: typical degree of risk occurring over time, fluctuation effects. By combo of influence factors: are different in that 7 factors that have influence on person"s baseline: developmental maturities. As cognitive abilities increase, there is less influence from media messages, more elements can be processed. Children with developmental maturities can then perform meta-thinking (thinking about thinking: cognitive abilities. Media is powerful as socializing influence b/c it"s hard to find other info to compare it to elsewhere. Thus media becomes like reality : sociological factors. Being susceptible to influence of media because there is not enough real-world info and experience. With not enough info/experience, whatever media presents will be accepted as accurate: lifestyle.
