Muscular endurance - contract repeatedly over extended period of time. Controlled and progressive training of muscular and skeletal system. Voluntary skeletal muscles - allows movement of skeleton, when moving it generates body heat (voluntary - you have control over it) When connective tissues draws together we have tendon, which then connects muscle to bone. Tendon: muscle to bone. Involuntary smooth muscle - allows for internal functioning, ex: propelling food through gi tract. Muscle fibers - individual muscle cells. Made up on myofibrils - contain two types of contractile proteins (actin and myosin) These proteins slide back and forth past each other when contracting. This is important because in resistant training different adaptations will occur that will improve muscle strength and endurance. Different muscles will have different types of fibers listed below.
