Document Summary

Objective: to study the applications of diodes in logic circuits and as light emitters and detectors. Picture 1: sketch of figure 1 with 1khz at input 1 a. Picture 2: figure 1 output with 1khz at input 1 and 5v at input 2. Picture 3: figure 2 output with 1khz at input 1 and 5v at input 2. The output would still be high as both diodes are allowing a high input. What would happen if both inputs were high? (for figure 1) Is there any loss in signal height? (for figure 1) Is there any output with 0v on both inputs? (for figure 2) Why should this be true? (that diodes should not be used in logic circuits) There is one whenever only 1 signal is high. One reason is if the signal in the diode drops to low the output should go to low as well.
