EE 2231 Chapter : EE2231L07
Document Summary
This is a diode experiment aimed at studying diode applications of logic circuit, which includes the use of diode as light emitters and detectors. On starting the experiment, an or gate indicated in figure 1 below is connected. This is a diode two-input or gate constructed out of two diodes with shared cathode nodes. The output of the logic circuit is also located at that node. Using a ttl signal from a function generator (0 to 3v) was connected to input 1 with a frequency of 1khz. This was then repeated with input2 connected to a 5v. Whenever either input (or both) is a logic 1 (high/5v) the output becomes a logic 1 as well. When both inputs are a logic 0 (low/0v), the output is pulled low through the resistor. Ans: whenever either input (or both) is a logic 1 (high/5v) the output becomes a logic 1 as well. Ans: no there is rather a gain in signal height.
