Purpose: to study the applications of diodes in logic circuits and as light emitters and detectors. Assembly: all circuits in the lab manual were assembled on the breadboard. The diagrams of the circuits are on page 7 this report. What would happen if both inputs were high: construct an or gate using diodes. Sketch the output waveform when one input is asserted high . Notice that with an input voltage of 3v, when there is an input at either terminal 1 or 2, there is a voltage drop of approximately 0. 7v due to the diode. Repeat the previous procedure with input 2 connected to the +5v supply on the breadboard. Sketch the waveform when input 1 is a 3v square wave and input 2 is a 5v input. Only due to the voltage drop across the diode. For the above picture the solid line at ~4v is the output.
