It was only a little over a century ago that psychology emerged as a scientific discipline. Ancient greek philosophers: socrates, plato, aristotle, considered and debated the relevance of psychology. A(cid:396)istotle(cid:859)s theo(cid:396)(cid:455) of (cid:373)e(cid:373)o(cid:396)(cid:455): old (cid:271)ut still (cid:449)ith us toda(cid:455). His (cid:272)o(cid:374)(cid:272)eptio(cid:374) of (cid:373)e(cid:373)o(cid:396)(cid:455) suggested that memories are the result of three principles of association; similarity, contrast, and contiguity. Decrates argued for dualism of mind and soul.
