COMMERCE 3S03 Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Document Summary
Chapter 3: managing yourself to get things done. Time wasters are things that you spend time on that you question the value of, but that you still spend time on it. Difficult to manage time wasters, as they are near necessities of life. Time robbers: things that we do in our life, that if we dedicated less time to them, then we would probably get as much out of them. Easier to manage in theory but still challenging. Time management: using techniques that enable you to get more done in less time and with better results, be more relaxed, and have more time to enjoy your work and your life. Time management means managing yourself so that you are more productive and can accomplish the things you need/want to. Self-management: the ability to engage in self-regulating thoughts and behaviour to handle difficult or challenging situations. This is made difficult when there are already established patterns of habit and behaviour.
