In the book the end of education, postman pretends redefining the value of school by analyzing the crisis of education in america and by suggesting narratives, which can provide a purpose to schooling. Sixteen years after his last book about education, postman return to the subject because he believed it was the answer to many social problems. His experience working in the educational field as a teacher allowed postman to keep a critical eye on students and their education.
