Depth of field: the distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera. Depth of field (depth of focus) lenses have a depth of field. It is the number of planes in which an object appears to be in focus. Reflected light is directed unto opaque specimens from above and is reflected to the viewer.
