Most Americans' lives would have been very different at the end of the 19th century compared to the beginning of the same century. By the turn of the 20th century, we had electricity, sanitation, and political and economic movements. What do you believe had the biggest impact on the everyday lives of ordinary people in the later 19th century—an invention, a social movement, a reform, etc.? For what reason? Keep in mind that it might have been an invention, a social transformation, a political or economic movement, or anything else you felt was noteworthy.
