Penelope has worked her way through the first unit of the statistics course by skipping the text and jumping straight to the activities, which she enjoys. When she answers a multiple choice question incorrectly, she tries the other answers until she discovers the correct one. She appreciates that the multiple choice questions are automatically graded and enjoys seeing full points for correct answers. She does not enjoy the essay questions because they are not automatically graded, and she cannot immediately know her score on these questions. for the short answer questions she does not check the feedback response nor modify her answer. So, she quickly answers them without much thought. She monitors her quiz and checkpoint grades and sees that she is doing well-enough by answering most of the multiple choice questions correctly, Unfortunately, she does not pass the first exam. "Oh well," she sighs, "Back to the drawing board." Once again, she opens the next module, skips the text, and goes straight to the quizzes and checkpoints. She works on the multiple choice questions because she enjoys them. And, she only makes a minor effort on the essay questions because she does not enjoy them. Penelope's principle mistake was failing to:

⚪ properly assess the tank.
⚪ accurately evaluate her own strengths and weaknesses.
⚪ plan an effective strategy for working through the course.
⚪ successfully monitor her own performance.
⚪ adjust her approach.
