Background and context
Freshwater is defined as water with a low concentration of dissolved salt that can be consumed by humans. Though drinking water is necessary, agriculture and industry consume the majority of freshwater. Bathing, flushing toilets, and watering lawns consume more fresh water in the home than drinking and cooking. There is a scarcity of freshwater. As a result, we must conserve freshwater.
