Imagine that you have been asked to repeat T.H. Morgan’s classic experiments on the white eye mutant of Drosophila. Your plan was to cross flies with different eye phenotypes (white vs red), score F1 progeny flies for eye phenotypes, allow sibling flies to mate, and score F2 progeny. Unfortunately, you never got around to doing the experiment, and instead had to write up what you would have expected to find if you had not procrastinated. Note here what number of flies of each type you would have found if your experimental results had perfectly matched your expectation. Assume that you scored 100 progeny flies from each type of mating.
