I am a little confused about carbohydrate metabolism. I know it is a catabolic pathway, but I am not sure the order of the processes that occure. When you eat or drink does it go straight into glycolysis or substrate level phosphorylation. I am confused on the order of the cycles, whcih occurs first: glycolysis, substrate level phosphorylation, ETC, TCA, oxidative phosphorylation and pentose phosphate pathway. I hope I am making sense in what I am asking. Thank you!
