ED 403 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Speech Balloon, Reading School
Document Summary
Stair stepper learning level: (used in school setting) Level two: language function level (concreate, not grammatical, lack of full grammar meaning its restricted, thinking is the here and now) *limited displacement: can"t think beyond the here and now (semanticity, flexibility like drawing, productivity) Level one: pre-language function (sensory motor and preoperational) *students are expected to learn auditorily first (speaking), then reading, then writing. If student shows that they struggle that they are reading school systems won"t allow them to write because they don"t think they are able. Writing sometimes makes us lose the images what are going on in your mind. You write and then you put a picture to tell what happened. Telling does not match picture because throwing is not being shown. Pattern is understood but concept is not: what is intervention: scaffolding the action and refining it.
