Document Summary

When we have a student that is grammatically developed but isn"t able to put words together shows an issue with language. The student may be hitting the standards but still not be taught language. If you have sentences you have adult grammar so be able to learn conceptually (assumption) Adult grammar: structures of grammar, function in a way that allows you to think like an adult. Student goes and opens the door and then says they shabooyed the door, but we still don"t know what it means. This is just a transcribe of people"s utterances. How does this learning work: how do we compensate for those students labeled with a special language/reading need?". Structure is the ability to use the patterns: phonology, syntax rules, morphology, morpheme, surface semantics, vocabulary. Function is the ability to apply the patterns and think. Internal processing time: they don"t do their hw or they do it and just don"t turn it in.
