Society disagrees and has criminalized sex between adults and children. Any action that violates the personal boundaries of an individual. Sexuality of children has long been debated. Some believe sex between children and adults is okay and not harmful. Must be consent and child must be of age to give legal consent. Major impact on lives of survivors of child sexual abuse. Page 113 from the child abuse prevention and treatment act amendment in 1984: Basically, it is any sexual act with a child (visually or physically) The definition is still slightly ambiguous, although notably more precise than that of neglect. Extrafamilial is a very small proportion of sexual abuse though some authors disagree. This means that a majority of sexual abuse that goes on is intrafamilial. Effects of intrafamilial are more severe in most cases. That is supposed to be the child"s support unit. They are supposed to be protecting the child.
