Approximately 50 million bangladesh people live within 5 meters of water. The coast and any buildings around it are eroding at an unbelievable rate. The erosion is so fast that it outpaced google maps. While the researchers were on the edge of the water, they were said to have been 100 meters from the coast. Many people have had to move houses three or four times in the last few years. Approximately 25,000 people had to move from where the researchers were in the past few years. About 35 square kilometers of land had been lost in on small area and 40,000 people had been moved. Migrants move from coastal regions into big cities where they encounter many new challenges that come with urban life. Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world and they are only losing land every day. According to the world bank, 1,000 new people arrive in dakka, the capital, every day.
