Document Summary

Cse 1010 - introduction to computing for engineers. A way to group statements together and give them a name. Usually, you don"t refer to a recipe by its ingredients and steps. It"s like a recipe and it collects all of the steps in to one convenient place to it by its name. The name of the function refers to the steps of this function to make it easy to remember what it is! You solve a small piece of a problem once and then turn it into a function. You can use that function whenever and wherever you need it. Then other programmers (even you) have access to that solution and can refer to it by name instead of resolving the problem. You don"t necessarily need to know how these functions work, but you just need to know that they work, so that you can use them in your programming.
