Human trafficking is defined as the recruitment, transfer, or receipt of persons by means of force, threat of force, or deception for the purposes of exploitation. Human trafficking happens without the consent of the person, unlike migrant smuggling, for example. There are approximately 2. 5 million victims of human trafficking in the world currently, and 70% of those are women and girls who are usually subjected to sexual exploitation. In india alone, half a million girls are living in brothels, more than any other country in the world.
