Who should be allowed to own the world’s rarest violin? - PRP 17
The purpose of a violin is not to sit in a museum for spectacle. A violin was created for the sole
purpose of making music. The person who can perform this function best should be allowed to
own the violin. The rich man who is able to outbid the violinist should not be included in the
debate for a violin because he is unable to efficiently and effectively bring about the most
productivity from a violin. He should not be allowed in such discussions purely because he has
money when he does not possess the skill or range to use a violin. Aristotle defines justice as
giving people what they deserve. A talented violinist deserves a violin and if he is given the
opportunity should be allowed to own the world’s rarest violin. Who deserves a job offer for
teaching swimming classes? An actual swimmer or a gorgeous man who has the physique of a
swimmer. The swimmer deserves that position not only for the safety of the students but also
because he has the capacity to make the most out of that opportunity. The violin deserves to be
with someone who knows and understands its purpose and can put it to its best use.
