Integration of basic science and social problems: Global threats - resource depletion, environmental pollution, overpopulation = profound changes in human behaviour. Health: stress, emotions, love, addiction, grief, illness. Law: enforce laws, weigh evidence, distribute justice. Two fundamental axioms: (axiom = proposition that is true without proof)
