Document Summary

When disconnected the grasshopper will walk and grasp on it"s own. Male will try to run, even when head bitten off the body still struggles. Some behaviors better at night, some better at day, some better at other times. Change the stimulus to see when crickets chirp. Timing of behaviour becomes out of phase, a 25 to 26 hour cycle instead of 24. Period become out of phase but still does go. Sill be triggered by some thing of the environment for when to start. Day length can change, so need to be able to shift. They need to use this behavior outside of the stimulus time. Maybe the stimulus is priming the body for the behavior. There is some good adaptive reason for both. Long winged are nocturnal, short winged not as much. Can determine that behavior probably has some role in their behavior.
