Document Summary

Hormones are chemical messengers that keep behavioural options in check. Behavioural schedules - scheduling behaviours to coincide to some degree with the environment. Hormonal system - how hormones regulate behaviours as they associate with other animals. Ganglia are masses of nerve cells and when they"re separated they can code for controlling certain parts of the body. Insects have clustering in their head (protocerebal ganglion) ; before the brain. Mantis is capable of fully functioning without the head. Female mantis can consume the head of the male mantis and that doesn"t stop mating from occurring. Some behaviours are better timed to be produced at day or at night. Crickets are kind of associated with dusk or early onset of darkness. Their behaviour may be triggered by an environment stimulus or by an internal mechanism. When aspects of the timing of the stimulus are removed but the behaviour keeps happening , there"s an internal mechanism .
