Document Summary

Need to be able to calculate allele frequency in a population. Changes in allele frequency in a population. This happens due to changes in chromosome structure, numbers, mutation, recombination. So basically due to some difference over time in the genetic mechanism or alleles of the traits we are studying. He didn"t know there were chromosomes at his time but he knew they were paired. If both alleles are the same they are homozygous. The hardy- weinberg formula does just this. He developed a line of peas that had a variety of characteristics. Mendels theories are called laws because they are mathematical proofs. Dihybrid cross would not work if the two traits were on the same chromosome. All of mendels traits that he developed his laws in all had traits on two separate. No one knows how he did this. Hence 70% is red and 30% is white. Don"t care about which is dominant or recessive- only about their colour.
