We have a pair of conjoined twin pigs that (cid:449)ere (cid:271)or(cid:374), (cid:272)o(cid:374)sidered to (cid:271)e (cid:862)freaks of (cid:374)ature. (cid:863) they (cid:449)ere ofte(cid:374) (cid:272)o(cid:374)sidered to (cid:271)e sig(cid:374)s or o(cid:373)e(cid:374)s fro(cid:373) god- a negative message (ominous) as to what was to come. There had been prophecies that the world would end in the year 1500. Woodcut and engraving in the 15th century: woodcut did not come from a goldsmithing tradition and so they could be book illustrations. However, a metal engraving could not be part of a book llustration.
