51 views4 pages

Document Summary

Potentiality: refers to the basic features that can be assigned to any human, all humans have needs and capacities, needs are the things that are required for a good life. May vary according to the specific cultural context. As societies advance in complexity, further needs will develop: capacities are skills that can be developed in humans. We have the capacity to alter the way we meet our needs. There is a demand within us for the development of our various potentialities. A healthy human will want to develop their intelligence: plasticity. We don"t all have the same capacities nor do we end up the same. We develop along lines conditioned by our talents, interests, influences and opportunities. We aren"t locked into a line of development. There is flexibility both with respect to how we develop and what we decide to develop.
