Sexual and reproductive anatomy consists of both the external sex organs, as well as internal sex organs. The external female genitals are collectively called the vulva: clitoris, mons pubis, labia majora, labia minora, vaginal opening. The clitoris is very sensitive and important to female sexual response. Consist of: a tip (the glans clitoris, a shaft consisting of the two corpora cavernosa, two crura. Rounded fatty pad of tissue at the front of the body. Labia majora: the outermost lips of the vulva, they are rounded pads of fatty tissue that lie along both sides of the vaginal opening, typically have pubic hair. The area that is enclosed by the labia minora. Contains the vaginal opening and urethral opening. Also contains a pair of bartholin glands: secrete small amounts of lubrication but main function is unknown. The vaginal opening is also called the introitus.
