Paraeducators - individuals who provide direct or indirect instructional and other services to students and who are supervised by licensed professionals who are responsible for student outcomes. May work in rti, remedial math or reading, esl, spec. Title 1: must have associate"s degree or the equivalent, training to pass test demonstrating skills for assisting in math, reading, writing, and school readiness. Some are in the process of becoming a teacher. Idea: must be appropriately trained to work with students with disabilities. Working with individual students or small groups. One-to-one assistants for those with more severe disabilities. Grade student work - with rubric or answer key. Give insights on student learning and behavior. Teacher should always make decisions about instruction. Make decisions about interventions or programs needed. Decide what interventions or programs are no longer needed for students. Design and deliver core instruction without teacher supervision. Make critical decisions about student education or safety.
