Prompts are arrangements/cues made to increase the likelihood that learners will make correct responses. Discrete-trial training teaches learners to wait, respond, and use a reward (passive waiting is rewarded, leading to less initiation in natural settings) Ias teachers learners to initiate and complete activities without waiting for an instruction to be given. Manual guidance: most-to-least prompting to prevent errors: graduated guidance- the reduction of physical guidance. Place the photographic activity schedule on the far left of the work surface. Sequence the materials on the work surface. Provide manual guidance to complete the task depicted on the schedule, and repeat for every activity. Deliver rewards/tokens frequently and simultaneously with the appropriate behaviour: deliver rewards from behind, tokens are exchanged for an additional reward accompanied by praise and attention. Don"t talk or gesture while the child is engaging in their ias. Spatial fading: gradually changing the location of manual prompts.
