BST2021 Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Stimulus Control, Task Analysis
Document Summary
Reinforcement: edibles (deliver from behind quickly, no praise) Strongest reinforcer, often used with early learners. Thursday, march 19, 2020: tokens (with a terminal reinforcer from choice board) Increased independence because it can be built into the schedule. Least naturally reinforcing but help in fading schedule to natural contingencies: tangibles. Terminal reinforcer at the end of completion. Less ideal to use throughout a schedule. Praise not given until end: contacting reinforcement for transitioning from one activity to another: the learner needs to learn to be independent! 2 concurrent schedules: tasks completed (smaller reinforcement because they"re mastered activities, ability to use the activity schedule (transition) 5 components: opening the book/turning the page, looking at or point to picture, obtains depicted materials, completing the activity, putting the materials away. Sequence of behaviours: backward chaining, forward chaining. Prompts are faded wherever in the sequence the learner is demonstrating more independence (requires the therapist to be responsive to the learner)
