Advertisers do this to you all the time: They make their product seem -- maybe only for a few crucial moments --like something you really have to have.
In this discussion post, you have a chance to get in on this action.
Think of a product people don't need, but buy all the time.
Ideally, it'll be something odd and totally unnecessary for our daily lives.
Think about the rhetorical tools you have at your disposal, specifically ethos, logos and pathos.
You can use an existing item or create a product of your own.
Briefly describe the product to your reader (about a paragraph)
Write a 1-2 paragraph "commercial" in which you use one of the appeals (pathos, ethos, or logos) to sell us something we don't need.
Then write a second "commercial" - - again 1-2 paragraphs-- based on a different appeal, trying to sell us the same product.
You only need to write two, not three, so pick which appeals you want to use. Try to stick to one appeal per paragraph...avoid Blendos for this exercise, if
you can.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TELL THE READER WHICH APPEAL YOU ARE USING. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO FIGURE IT OUT.
Help PLEASE ☺️
