3. A carrot is the root of the carrot plant. Plants often store their extra sugar in their roots. A hungry rabbit eats the leaves of the carrot plant as well as the carrot. Not long after the rabbit finishes its meal, the rabbit has to run away from the neighborhood Chihuahua.

b. The rabbit has enzymes in its stomach that break down the polysaccharide. What molecule is the polysaccharide broken down into?
What does the rabbit use these molecules for?
